Mission & Ministry, Inc. Grants $350,000 to Holy Family Cristo Rey

Holy Family Cristo Rey Catholic High School announced today that Mission and Ministry, Inc. has awarded a $350,000 grant to the Birmingham-based Cristo Rey Network School.

Holy Family Cristo Rey president, Fr. Alex Steinmiller, said the support of Mission and Ministry is helping support the school mission of preparing young adults for college.

“Our school is addressing the chronic challenge of our age—motivating youth facing tremendous obstacles to realize their dreams through college graduation. The Mission and Ministry grant, sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of Birmingham, is providing the necessary support for us to meet this challenge. The Daughters understand the challenge and how to meet it,” Fr. Alex Steinmiller said.

The grant from Mission and Ministry will be used to fund a number of school projects including underwriting the cost of operating two Corporate Internship bus routes, underwriting continuing professional development for faculty and staff, purchasing desks for two new classrooms and also paying salaries for two science teachers, one math teacher and the new principal.
